Makojima wants the Production Service to be usable by people with a wide range of abilities, devices, input methods, and assistive technologies. This statement describes our target and current approach; it is not a claim that every page or third-party service has been independently certified.
Our commitment
Accessibility is a product and engineering requirement. We aim to provide equivalent access to public content, account creation and recovery, Settings, learning features, and Agents without requiring a mouse, a particular color perception, or animation.
Target and current status
Makojima targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA for Production pages and interactions we control. We test semantic structure, keyboard operation, visible focus, contrast, text resizing, responsive reflow, reduced motion, labels, status messages, and common screen-reader behavior.
This is an ongoing target, not a blanket conformance certification. New and changed surfaces are reviewed at phone, tablet, and desktop widths, but defects can remain. Third-party authentication, email clients, model output, linked websites, and browser features may have accessibility behavior outside Makojima's control.
Accessibility features
Production is designed to include:
- a skip link and one identifiable main-content region;
- semantic headings, landmarks, lists, forms, buttons, links, dialogs, and tables where applicable;
- keyboard access with visible focus and logical order;
- labels, instructions, error recovery, and programmatic status or alert messages for forms;
- layouts that reflow on narrow screens and support browser zoom and text scaling;
- light and dark presentation with contrast-aware design tokens;
- respect for the operating system's reduced-motion preference;
- alternatives to hover-only interaction and touch targets sized for phone use;
- descriptive names for navigation, icons, controls, and the sleeping-cats brand mark; and
- legal documents whose complete text and table-of-contents anchors remain available on small screens.
Agents files and generated content
The Agents workspace is intended to support keyboard navigation, labeled controls, screen-reader status updates, safe focus behavior, and responsive conversation layouts. Generated text can contain imperfect structure or wording because it is produced dynamically. Uploaded files, transcripts, or linked third-party material may not have accessible alternatives.
If Agents output is difficult to use, ask for a simpler structure, shorter sections, or a text alternative, and report the problem so we can improve the Product-controlled presentation. Makojima does not guarantee the accessibility or accuracy of generated content.
Compatible technology
The Service is designed for current stable versions of major browsers on phones and desktop computers and for assistive technologies that work with standards-based HTML. Older, embedded, or heavily modified browsers may not support every feature. Keeping the browser and assistive technology current usually provides the best experience.
JavaScript and secure cookies are required for signed-in account and Agents interactions. Public legal text remains server-rendered so it is present in the initial document response.
Known limitations
Areas that may require continuing improvement include dynamically generated Agents content, long email-address truncation in compact navigation, focus behavior across complex dialogs and drawers, uploaded media without author-provided alternatives, and third-party authentication or email flows. A control that is not present in the Production Service is not currently available as an accommodation.
When we confirm a barrier, we prioritize it based on impact, frequency, security, and whether a reasonable alternative is available. Accessibility fixes do not bypass identity verification, account security, or abuse controls, but we will work to provide an accessible way to complete the same protected task.
Feedback and assistance
If you encounter a barrier or need help accessing Production content, email hello@makojima.com. Replies will come from the Makojima address responsible for the request. Include the page or feature, what you were trying to do, the browser or assistive technology if you are comfortable sharing it, and the format or assistance that would help. Do not include passwords, MFA codes, recovery phrases, or unnecessary personal information.
We will acknowledge accessibility feedback and work toward a response or reasonable alternative. Timing depends on severity, complexity, and whether a third party controls the affected surface.
Ongoing work
Makojima incorporates accessibility into design parity reviews, code checks, keyboard and responsive browser acceptance, and release evidence. We may update this statement as the Production route set, known limitations, or testing practices change.
