Makojima wants the Production Service to be usable by people with a wide range of abilities, devices, input methods, and assistive technologies. This statement describes our target and current approach; it is not a claim that every page, application, model response, or third-party service has been independently certified.
Our Commitment
Accessibility is a product and engineering requirement. We aim to provide equivalent access to public model information, account creation and recovery, Settings, Developer Access, API Activity, and legal information without requiring a mouse, a particular color perception, or animation.
Target And Current Status
Makojima targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA for Production pages and interactions we control. We test semantic structure, keyboard operation, visible focus, contrast, text resizing, responsive reflow, reduced motion, labels, status messages, and common screen-reader behavior.
This is an ongoing target, not a blanket conformance certification. Defects can remain. Third-party authentication, email clients, approved application interfaces, model output, linked websites, and browser features may behave outside Makojima's control.
Accessibility Features
Production is designed to include:
- a skip link and one identifiable main-content region;
- semantic headings, landmarks, lists, forms, buttons, links, dialogs, and tables;
- keyboard access with visible focus and logical order;
- labels, instructions, error recovery, and programmatic status or alert messages;
- layouts that reflow on narrow screens and support zoom and text scaling;
- light and dark presentation with contrast-aware design tokens;
- respect for reduced-motion preferences;
- alternatives to hover-only interaction and touch targets sized for phones; and
- legal documents whose complete text and contents remain available on small screens.
Model API Content
API Activity provides text labels for status, model, time, credit use, downloads, and eligible cancellation. Model output can contain imperfect structure or wording because it is generated dynamically. A separate client is responsible for presenting an API response accessibly after it leaves Makojima.
The current website does not include a Chat or Agent workspace, audio controls, training forms, datasets, adapters, or marketplace interactions. A control that is not present in the public Production Service is not currently offered as an accommodation.
Compatible Technology
The website is designed for current stable versions of major browsers on phones and desktop computers and for assistive technologies that work with standards-based HTML. Older, embedded, or heavily modified browsers may not support every feature.
JavaScript and secure cookies are required for signed-in account interactions. Public legal text remains server-rendered in the initial document response. The Model API is intended for native and server clients; accessibility of a third-party client belongs to that client's interface.
Known Limitations
Areas that can require continuing improvement include long identifiers in compact layouts, focus behavior across dialogs and drawers, generated text structure, status updates during asynchronous requests, and third-party authentication or email flows.
Accessibility fixes do not bypass identity verification, account security, credential protection, ownership, abuse controls, or model safety limits. We will work to provide an accessible way to complete the same protected task where reasonably possible.
Feedback And Assistance
If you encounter a barrier or need help accessing Production content, email hello@makojima.com. Include the page or feature, what you were trying to do, the browser or assistive technology if you are comfortable sharing it, and the format or assistance that would help. Do not include passwords, API keys, tokens, two-factor codes, or recovery material.
We will acknowledge accessibility feedback and work toward a response or reasonable alternative. Timing depends on severity, complexity, and whether a third party controls the affected surface.
Ongoing Work
Makojima includes accessibility in design reviews, code checks, keyboard and responsive browser acceptance, and release evidence. We may update this statement as the Production route set, known limitations, or testing practices change.
